Turquie, Arméniens, Génocide

25 avril 2021

In 1915, the Turkish army carried out the massacre of the strong Armenian minority on the grounds that it represented an enemy force. Certainly, during the Great War, Turkey was the ally of the German and Austro-Hungarian Empire. Certainly the Armenians are Orthodox Christians just like the Tsar who had declared war on the Ottoman Empire. The Turkish authorities claim that the actions carried out against the Armenians in 1915 were only actions of war against a hostile population.

It must be believed that the Armenians had to be particularly aggressive so that women, children, old men were also massacred to guarantee the final victory. True, it is the victors of a war who tell the story and the Turks were not on the right side. The inability of the Turkish Government to accept the reality of a historical and documented fact is again the blindness of the institutions to accept the difference, especially if this difference involves a difference of religion.

Finally, the US authorities no longer feel completely constrained by the alliance with a NATO member state having a border with the former USSR.
