Aux US, comme partout ailleurs, il existe des chaînes de distributeurs qui se spécialisent dans un créneau du marché. Carrefour, Lidl en Europe, Walmart, Publix, Trader Joe’s aux US.

Ces sacs semblent difficiles à trouver. En ce qui nous concerne, Susan et moi, nous les avons acquis dans le Trader le plus proche de chez nous. Nous en avons acheté 12 pour ma famille et 1 pour Susan, soit un total de 13. Fâcheux, me direz-vous, certes, mais je ne suis pas superstitieux, ça porte malheur.

As far as Susan and I are concerned, we acquired them in the Trader closest to us. We bought 12 for my family and 1 for Susan, for a total of 13. Annoying, you will say, certainly, but I am not superstitious, it brings bad luck.

Ce qui rend le phénomène hilarant, c’est que l’on retrouve des Tote Bags à la fois sur eBay et Amazon. Regardez-bien les différentiels de prix. A eux seuls, ils justifient le titre de l’article :

Even Susan fell into the trap.
What makes it hilarious is that there are Tote Bags on both eBay and Amazon. Look at the price differentials. They alone justify the title of the article:
How stupid they are!

Une belle marge qui fait rêver.

Chez Amazon, c’est un facteur 10 qu’ils appliquent. Combien en vendront-ils est une autre question. Elle vaut toutefois d’être posée.

Si l’on se concentre sur le coeur de métier de Trader Joe’s, la distribution de produits alimentaires, le rayon vin offre des pépites avec un petit côté brigand. Ici un vin du Languedoc nommé « Pontifis. » L’étiquette n’est pas sans rappeler les « Châteauneufs du Pape », le tout avec une différence significative, ici la bouteille est vendue à 8$ la bouteille. En dégustation aveugle, elle passe facilement pour un bon Côtes du Rhône.

Here a Languedoc wine named « Pontifis. » The label is reminiscent of the famous « Chateauneuf du Pape », all with a significant difference, here the bottle is sold at $8 per bottle. In blind tasting, it can easily be confused with a good Côtes du Rhône.
